Permanent makeupaftercare

Lip blush, permanent eyeliner and microshading each heal a little differently, but the principles are the same. Careful aftercare in the first two weeks is what gives you soft, even, long lasting colour.

The first two weeks

General aftercare

Do

Every day

Keep the area clean and dry, blot gently, apply only the aftercare balm you are given, and let any flaking fall on its own.

Avoid

For two weeks

No sweating, swimming, saunas, steam, direct sun, makeup on the area, or picking. These lift pigment and cause patchiness.

By treatment

A few specifics

  1. Lip blush

    Hydrate and protect

Lips feel dry and tight and colour looks intense at first, then softens dramatically. Keep them balmed, drink through a straw, and avoid salty or spicy food for a few days.

  2. Permanent eyeliner

    Be gentle with the eyes

Expect mild puffiness on day one. Do not rub, avoid mascara and lash serums while healing, and skip contact lenses for the first day or two.

  3. Microshading

    Like microblading

Follow the microblading healing timeline. The powder finish flakes and lightens before the true colour resurfaces around weeks three to five.
