The healingtimeline
Microblading looks different from day to day as it heals, and every stage here is completely normal. Knowing what to expect is the difference between worrying and trusting the process.
What to expect while you heal
-
Days 1 to 2
Bold and fresh
Brows look darker, sharper and fuller than the final result. This is expected. Blot gently and keep the area clean and dry as directed.
-
Days 3 to 5
Darkening and thickening
Colour deepens and the strokes may look heavier before they lighten. Do not pick or scratch. Avoid sweat, steam and long showers.
-
Days 5 to 10
Flaking and scabbing
Light flaking begins and the brows feel itchy. Let every flake fall on its own. Pulling one off can lift the pigment with it.
-
Days 10 to 14
The ghosting phase
Brows can look faint or patchy as the top layer heals over the pigment. Do not panic, and do not book a correction. Colour resurfaces.
-
Weeks 3 to 5
Colour returns
The true, softer colour settles and the shape becomes clear. This is close to your final result.
-
Weeks 6 to 8
Perfecting touch up
Your perfecting touch up refines shape and colour once everything has healed. This visit completes the process and is booked separately.
Do and do not
Help it heal
Keep brows clean and dry, blot gently, apply only the aftercare you are given, and let flakes fall naturally.
For two weeks
No sweating, swimming, saunas, steam, direct sun, makeup on the brows, or picking and scratching.
